Batter Days, Chapter 5

The Waffle Truth

The Tunnels have reached maximum capacity – 721 studios filled with artists of all types! And it happened much faster than Cindy ever expected it would  But now she realizes she must share some information with Mayor Rory and Derrick. It’s a secret she discovered while reading some of the books that Romeo Sykes left behind. The books are also on the mind of Captain Broughha. In fact, the good Captain pays a visit to General Kalamity, once again trying to convince the General to force Cindy to turn over the volumes. Can he succeed where he has failed so many times before?

Batter Days, Chapter 4

Seven Hundred And Twenty One

Acting on some advice, Mulligan and Kipper attempt to bring their motorcycle/sidecar, “Old Porcupine,” to The Tunnels. But the entrance to the underground facility is guarded by an automated system. Can they get past it? Or is this the end of the road? Elsewhere in Middling Fair, Mayor Rory has summoned Cindy to a meeting at Town Hall. It seems the Mayor has some questions about The Tunnels. And only Cindy can provide the answers. We are also treated to a performance by Danny Hillcrest.

Headline headaches

Who will win that “discussion”? Elsewhere in Middling Fair, power and water issues continue to run wild. A certain local business is in danger of running out of a critical resource.. Batter Days, Chapter 2

Thoroughly modern methods.

Abby Falmacher and her team from the Venus Arms Hotel & Towers try to enjoy themselves at the big Middling Fair festival. But Abby is preoccupied with thoughts of the damage Brax Higgins caused at her Little Wicker Baskets company. And Cap, the hotel bell captain, is surprised to find himself in a trick situation of his own. Meanwhile, in the nearby town of Convenience, Higgins arrives at the state prison commonly known as “The Cage.” He, too, is in for a bit of a surprise.

Batter Days, Chapter 1

Shelter from the storm.

As April begins (just go with us on this one), the residents of Middling Fair are listening to Mayor Rory’s Founder’s Day speech. The speech will be followed by a few traditions. One of them is a fun carnival. The other is a bit more “escapist.” Elsewhere, Kipper and Mulligan find themselves unemployed, now that they no longer work for Brax Higgins. But an opportunity is about to come their way.

This year’s story will be a bit different than in years past. Just listen to the first episode and you’ll be able to hear it. This event continues every Monday, Wednesday and Friday through the beginning of August 2022. Subscribe (it’s free) to the show to be sure you catch all the new episodes.
