I've received back a big report on the survey we have here on the comedy4cast
Web site. (If you haven't taken the survey, please
feel free to do so by clicking here.) While there is lots of data
in the report, I won't bore you with all the details. Rather, I'd like
to concentrate on two areas: show content and commercials.
First, regarding show content, the survey reinforced my belief that humor is subjective. For example, some people really love The Basically Podcast Show with Lenny Treetop, and a few listeners out there could do without Lenny. Some people like the episodes that feature "family life" skits, while others prefer shows that poke fun at other podcasts. There were even comments that the show is not consistently funny. To me, this indicates that the show is striking a good balance, with something for everyone at one point or another. That doesn't mean that the show won't continue to change over time. It will. It's just that I didn't see anything that proved to be a major issue regarding content. Which is good, because it means we're all on the same wavelength.
I also wanted to touch on commercials. There was no groundswell of support for the commercialization of comedy4cast. And I understand your concerns. However, if I can find some way to offset some of the costs of the show, or to buy some additional equipment to make the show better, I'm going to try to make that work. Survey respondends found the following three areas to be "least offensive" (and I tend to agree with the choices): entertainment, electronics and computer hardware and software. So, should advertising opportunites come along, I'll try to focus on those categories.
Thanks to everyone who completed the survey. It is much appreciated. And, again, if you haven't taken the survey, now is a good time to do it.

But, there's no rest for the victors. The next Podcast Wars has
already begun, and the category is Comedy! Yes, comedy4cast must fight
the wars again. It's all in fun, but your
votes are appreciated.

I want to thank anyone and everyone who has been rating comedy4cast
over at Yahoo! Pocasts. I think the benefit is that it is helping the
show get some exposure. So, whether you're rating at Yahoo!, voting
for us over at Podcast Alley, adding comedy4cast to your favorite at
Podcast Pickle, etc., think of it as helping to advertise the show.
Again, you have my sincere thanks.

Lenny Treetop has an important announcement to make, but other things
keep getting in the way.
Show notes by cindy:
Like, Lenny asked me to write up some notes. Whatever. Like, in the
show, first the announcer gets all macho with his introduction and commercial
plug for generic tomato soup. Then Lenny does some weird intro with
airline names. Too weird. Like, this is taking a long time to type.
Anyway, like Lenny mentions the generic tomato soup again and then begs
you all for votes and stuff. Way too commercial for me, man. Then I
notice you can hear that same helicopter is hovering outside Lenny's
window again. Can you hear it? Wow. That's freaking me out. Later on,
Lenny makes his big announcement. Like, I don't get all this geeky stuff.
So, like, those are my notes. Deal with it Nomad451!

Instead of "wasting his time" at the Podcast Expo, Danny took
trips into Hollywood. Come join him on his adventures.
(November 15, 2005) I'm back from the Podcast Expo in California, and hope to have a new episode up within a day or two. I met so many fantastic people at the Expo it would be impossible to name them all. (I know, I tried to do it on the plane ride home). However, I would like to single out JVonD and Kat from JVonD Radio and Fosco and Jack from the Kickass Podcast for their excellent hospitality; Dan Klass, Lance Anderson and the gang from Dr. Floyd for putting on a terrific show on Friday night; Podcast Pickle for hosting the best booth; and everyone involved with the Brother Love/Chance concert (a fantastic ice breaker) and the Podcast Awards ceremony (great gathering - with food!).
