Ever since the mysterious stranger rolled into town at the beginning of April, he has been looking for Danny Hillcrest. Slowly, the good people of Middling Fair grew suspicious of the man going by the name “Blaine Hendrix.” Now, with Danny in plain sight, the stranger is about to accomplish his mission. What will this mean for Danny? And for any witnesses?

Big Shot, Chapter 15: Chekhov’s Gun

In this chapter, things take an interesting turn.

The stranger who came to Middling Fair to locate Danny Hillcrest is fed up. After listening to several stories by town residents, he is no closer to finding Danny than he was when he arrived. He heads back to the Venus Arms Hotel and Towers, where Danny resides. The stranger plans on demanding information that will put an end to the search.

Haartte wraps up the tale of his first case as a private detective in Middling Fair. He must locate a missing statue of Venus de Milo – while putting up with Danny Hillcrest. The mysterious stranger is hoping this story will give him some clues as to Danny’s whereabouts.
